Anxiety

While anxious feelings are a common and normal response to life stressors, we can sometimes feel them so intensely and frequently that we are unable to get through our da- to-day and live the life we want. Anxiety essentially becomes a “false alarm” that alerts our bodies in unhelpful ways, which can feel exhausting and overwhelming. Anxiety-based disorders include but are not limited to Generalized Anxiety, Phobias, Panic Disorder, and Social Anxiety. Anxiety may look like:

  • Excessive worrying across different areas and events (work, school, relationships) that occurs more days than not, accompanied by difficulties controlling the worry

  • Restlessness or feeling on edge

  • Irritability

  • Sleep difficulties

  • Difficulties concentrating or mind going blank

  • Muscle tension
